Email Alerts

Receive email notifications for critical Trappr security incidents — delivered to any address with no additional setup required on the free plan.

Default email notifications

Trappr automatically sends email alerts for Critical severity events (canary triggers, tamper detection, agent deactivation) to the email address on your Trappr account. No configuration needed.

Configuring email recipients

1
Open Settings → Notifications → Email

In the Trappr dashboard, navigate to Settings → Notifications → Email.

2
Add recipient addresses

Add one or more email addresses. You can add team email addresses (e.g. security@yourcompany.com) or individual engineers who should receive alerts.

3
Choose which events send email

Select the severity levels that trigger email delivery. We recommend Critical and High for email; lower-severity events are better suited for dashboard review or webhook delivery.

4
Send a test alert

Click Send test email to verify delivery. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive — add alerts@trappr.net to your allowlist.

Email alerts contain a link directly to the incident in the Trappr dashboard. Clicking it takes you to the full execution trace and event detail — no searching required.

Email alert contents

Each email includes:

  • Alert type and severity
  • Agent name and platform
  • Event timestamp
  • Brief description of the event
  • Direct link to the incident in the Trappr dashboard
